Sparrow, I'd definitely recommend it! I admit, it wasn't until I got about 1/3 of the way through the first book that I started getting hooked, but by half way through it, I'd gotten somewhat obsessed. :) I'll also admit that I'm only on book two now, and since I'm trying desperately to avoid spoilers, I've only watched season one of the show so far.
I completely agree with Teesea - I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy that's aimed toward adults. :)
Thanks, fellow readers (!) - will have a look this weekend - haven't read any new decent sci-fi / fantasy for ages - where are all the modern John Wyndhams and Isaac Asimovs :)
JoeTramp, I may come to the same conclusion eventually, but so far I wouldn't call the series a waste of time. As with just about any book-to-screen projects, I prefer the books...I can only vouch for season one, but it seems decent. Just my opinion. :)
Thank you, Graemedaulby. :) It really only makes sense if you've either read or watched A Game of Thrones. "Winter is coming" is the saying/slogan of a family in the books/tv show - the Stark family (it is also a seemingly omnipresent warning). The family's sigil/symbol is a wolf.
