    With the hint about the top row it is fair to solve, and even though some temporaries were needed it's completely logical.

    Temporaries were not needed and your statement is a contradiction in terms.

    Well I for one did need to use temps and also found it logical.
    By a mathematical definition, any puzzle with a unique solution is logical since it can be solved. Such a puzzle may require the use of so much trial and error though that it simply becomes unfeasable for a human to solve them (though a computer still could).
    Personally, I do agree that it just stops being fun if you have to go check out every single square, continuing thoughout half the puzzle before finding the contradiction, but that doesn't mean in cannot be logical. Just like a puzzle may end up being not logical because it has two or three different possible solutions, but still be easy to solve and enjoyable if the guesses are restrained to the very last few dots and the resulting picture is nice.
