You need to work out where the 5 in the final column can't go.

Do-able? Yes, but there are multiple possible solutions, so the end at least is definitly not logical.

Where they leave 12.

It's do-able... It's just not... hm. If you derive pleasure by applying logic to ascertain outcomes, then most of this puzzle is for you. If you also derive pleasure by just trying s**t out to see if it works, than all of this puzzle is for you.
