  • I think 100 of any hanjie series is more than enough. It is always nice to have variety, thanks.

  • I have decided to retire from making Hanjies. This is because no matter what series I have created; I have received what only can be described as bullying. I have created purely picture Hanjies and get accused of creating rubbish or boring. I create words and sayings Hanjies and get the same. I?ve created a mixture of both picture and word and the same happens again.

I have suffered hostile and bullying comments my whole time I have tried to create things for this site. I have created over 2700 Hanjies, which considering this is not my site, I feel is more than reasonable of me.

I have tried on many occasions not to take these comments seriously as there will always be someone who doesn?t like what you do ? if we could please everyone than the world would be a peace and no one would ever have conflict with each other.

Throughout my life I have been on the receiving end of bullying and this is exactly what you are doing now, despite the fact that you will claim you have not. A definition of bullying is someone who hurts someone by hurtful actions in order to prevent them doing what they want to do or to get the person to do what they want. The hurtful comments I have received over my time on this site are very much the definition of hurtful actions, especially the creation of this Hanjie and the general laughing/taunting. And the desired effect is I now no longer want to do what I enjoy and will be doing exactly what you want me to do ? so the bullies win.

On this site no one is forced to do the Hanjies you don?t like. Most people would just not do what they don?t like. As for the main page, this so called main page doesn?t have to display the newest Hanjies. On the search options you can display a numerous different criteria making the main page very different ? it is just everyone keeps it to the default of the newest being shown and therefore believes this is what they have to keep up with.

Finally, I have contacted the owners of this site asking for every Hanjie I have ever created to be removed from this site, so I no longer have these awful Hanjies that everyone doesn?t want.

I hope you have luck creating your own Hanjies.

  • How is this one any different? If there's a particular group you don't like, then just don't do them. But this seems like a childish, passive-aggressive puzzle to me.

  • Well well, If I had joined a chat forum, this is sort of behaviour I would expect, normal social media, they call it, but no, I join a very interesting, peaceful site, doing online puzzles, that I have enjoyed for many years in book form, and come across the very bullying and insulting that I actively seek to ignore.
Shame on people who cannot enjoy what they have, use site properly, and do only puzzles that interest them, to be honest quite apparent from title, and that is too much hard work, so resort to moaning.
Yes pages and pages of same to some does not look good, but search is there, and very easy to use, quietly, while at your computer or whatever, and everyone is happy, but not now, shame.

  • I sympathise with your feelings and your history, Puzzledanita.

But when you create things you get criticised for them. That's just how life works. Sometimes people just don't like the things you do; it's not personal. If you are psychologically unable to take criticism, maybe stopping to upload content is the right move, you might be happier with it in the long run.

I wish you all the best!

  • I think what everyone is trying to say is that people on this site enjoy enjoy a wide range of different hanjies. that is why there are so many different categories. I myself enjoy completing various different hanjies, and am intrigued by all the different senses of creativity that creates this site.

I don't think that people are trying to discredit anybody's hanjies in anyway. I do not think that this hanjie was created with malicious intent, and I do not believe that it was designed to offend anyone.

In my personal opinion, an opinion that is entirely my own, and trying to be as objective as an opinion can be, I think that the main motivation for this particular hanjie was that recently, there have been a few series that have been developed and put on the site in rather quick succession. I understand that the authors of these hanjies are just adding to the site as they create these hanjies, and I know that there are many people on the site appreciate it, myself included, in fact, there are a few series that I actively follow.

However, I also believe that although these hanjies are valuable assets to the site, they have been uploaded a bit too fast. I have personally gotten frustrated at having to go through many hanjies of these series before finding the hanjies that I wish to complete.

I am in no way trying to discourage the continued creation of hanjies by these authors, and am in no way trying to offend anyone (although I'm sure will), I just wish to give a more objective view on the matter. I think that if these hanjies were spread out a bit more, then people may be less negative in the way they respond.

  • Well put KT Brooks.

  • It is so easy to take and give offence when you are not face to face with other people. Emails and social media messages are easily misunderstood. Puzzledanita - I sincerely hope you are not retiring from Picross but, in any case, I would like to thank you for all the past puzzles you made that I have enjoyed. Cheers.

  • Puzzledanita has created some of the best hanjies ever to appear on this site, in my opinion.

  • Says they hate words and sayings puzzles yet creates a word hanjie?

  • I totally agree with KT Brooks!

  • This hanjie was not created with the intention to offend or upset anyone. It was a gentle nudge to say that maybe too many of one type of Hanjie filing the front page can get monotonous for those people who do not enjoy that particular type of puzzle.

I actually like words hanjies and have in the past enjoyed puzzles created by puzzledanita, but like to see a choice of types of puzzles on the front page.

  • Well your be pleased to know all my Hanjies have now been removed.

I joined this site to have fun and try to create fun for other people. I don't expect everyone to like my puzzles but what I do expect is people who don't enjoy them, to miss them out. This is not a social media site and I avoid them as I don't want to get involved in the faceless cowards slagging other people off. The last place I expected there to be trolls and bullies was a puzzle site - how wrong was I.

What I do not understand is the people that don't understand that the so called "front page" is not a static front page - you have the default set to show the newest Hanjies - this can be changed by changing the search options - if you don't like a particular puzzle appearing on this so called "front page" then CHANGE THE SEARCH OPTIONS - don't be the moaning bullies that you have become.

  • What I fail to understand in this argument is that if you do not like the comments, why would you bother to read them? I've created a few and have never seen the comments... I'm generally disinterested in what others say about them because I do them for me... just on here, others can have a go at solving them.... The thing with this is... you're allowing yourself to be affected by what others are saying when really, you don't need to involve yourself in the opinions of others without consciously wanting to know what they think. I actually stopped playing this for a while when the Hanjies were coming in thick and fast and came back when I thought they may have slowed down a bit! The fact that they were word problems was fine, there were just too many too quickly... you say that you can change the search options, this is true but I can't usually be bothered to do so unless to go to the ones I haven't yet solved... however, I put to you (which may give you more confidence to continue creating- there's no need to allow others to stop you) don't wind yourself up by reading the comments... do as the famous do, they don't read everything written about them... some can be nice but some can be challenging and you have just got to do it for you and ignore public opinion!
